Friday Creativity Prompt

What do you do when you’re tapped out of ideas? Maybe you’re keeping a life journal but nothing seems interesting. Sometimes we struggle to find a meaningful connection.

Here’s a little tip to help you out. Whatever your read — either online or print — is a source of fodder for your creative efforts.

A few days ago I read an article by a financial “expert.” It had me seething. I wrote about it in my daily journal.

It became the basis of a story the next day. I searched for a connection between the article and my area of expertise.

Here’s Your Exercise

Take note of something you read today. Pick something that generates an emotional response. Find the connection and write about it.

Here is my example from a few days ago.
