What would Ukraine look like if President Zelensky had taken Biden's offer and fled the country when Russian forces moved in? It's hard to imagine the citizenry rallying around the defense of their land to the same extent without the bold commitments and dedication from their President.

Leadership matters.

By leadership, I mean the act of leading, not the title one holds. Just because your business card identifies you as CEO or your elected position dubs you a Senator doesn't mean you are a leader.

If you've ever worked a job, you can point to personal frustrations with pretend leaders, folks who hold impressive titles but couldn't guide a team of 4th graders in a science project.

They know how to give orders, but never inspire or bring out the best in their people. Still, in these situations, we often see real leaders step up. They hold no official title, but when shit needs to get done, everyone looks up to the defacto leader for vision, inspiration, and support. They rally constituents towards achieving a specific goal, guiding them through the minefield of challenges, and keeping them motivated through the finish line.

What makes these people so unique?
