Let's Face It. Nobody Cares About Democracy
It's just not working for a lot of people
Would you sacrifice our Democracy in exchange for $2 gas? It seems crazy to old-school democracy lovers like me, but I suspect many Americans who claim to love our country would opt for cheap fuel over free and fair elections.
Sure, lots of folks, like the one referenced below, may say it out of anger without really meaning it, but let's put aside the price of gas; there's reason to feel concerned.
It's not just cheap gas lovers questioning Democracy's promises but also those who, for decades, watched elites vacuum up all the rewards while everyday people worked two jobs to feed their families in dilapidated housing.
For Democracy to work, it must benefit a majority of its constituents or, at least, give hope that it will. The working class on the left and right haven't benefitted from it in decades, and many are losing hope that the system will deliver on its promises.
