Yes, I’m sure. I couldn’t tell the entire story. Long story kind of short:

We developed a healthier friendship later and then talked about it.

The guy she really liked did not like her back. Her interest in my friend that night was just a distraction

She knew I had feelings for her. I never mentioned it at the time but we talked about it later.

We didn’t speak for several months after that but we became really good friends for two years until I loved cross country. I suppose I could have added a sentence to clarify that.

As for the bad boy section. It was intended to communicate that what nice guys think of as bad boys or jerks, often aren’t really bad. They’re just confident and well adjusted. It’s what the “nice guy” wishes he could be more like, so he’s resentful. I know because I was once one :)
